East Coast Adventuring

From June 22 - July 1 Mr. Pickle had the privilege of visiting a few new states! He ventured off with Michael and his wife and young son to New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts. Knowing Michael I'm sure it was nonstop shenanigans and secret agent type mischief, easily hid with these photographs.

Mr. P hanging out with this lady in Niagra Falls, New York.

Enjoying the seaside at Boston Harbor.

Sometimes a pickle just has to help a frog fish while visiting Boston Commons! And hope he doesn't get stuck on the end of a fishing hook!

Worms! Mr. Pickle was so not afraid of these sweet frogs.

Mr. P and crew had mad fun at the New England Aquarium in Boston. JELLYFISH!

False alarm time at the aquarium. As always, Mr. Pickle is looking quite dapper in his plaid scarf. (Made from fabric he got a Mood Fabric in NYC, thanks to Elizabeth.)

~~~
And... another fun trip comes to an end. He had a great time with Michael and his family and he LOVED checking off two more states on his big master checklist! WOOT!
He's got a few weeks from before his next big trip. Check out his itinerary and let me know if you wish to travel with him!
~~
Thank you so much for reading about Mr. Pickle's travel adventures, and a BIG thank you to those who take him along on trips. It's sweet folks like y'all that are keeping this project alive.
European Vacation
Mr. Pickled traveled with Jen from March 28- April 8. They left Buffalo, NY and traveled through England, France and Ireland. Sadly, I never heard from Jen, I have no idea how it went, and I have no photographic evidence. What a boring post. BUT, he did go. Apparently?
Buffalo Stance
From March 15- 22 Mr. Pickle joined Valerie and headed to Buffalo to visit her friend Jen again! They had a ton of fun eating good food and catching up as old friends do. Here we go:
Mr. P with Jen and Sal as they dive into some grub at Alton's! Mr. Pickle got a kick out of Jen's hat named Peanuts!
Time to put on his glasses at the zoo and read up on his animal friends.
Hello poison dart frogs! "You are tiny and fast," thinks Mr. Pickle.
A gorilla in the midst of the zoo! Mr. P had WAY too much fun with his new friends.
And holy smokes, look at that cute gorilla face! Mr. Pickle can hardly contain himself.
Sporting a new hat and dining at La Nova on St. Joseph's Day. Every year on St. Joseph's day, La Nova's has a big feast, mostly vegetarian, tho' there were some fish dishes and it's absolutely free and open to the public.
All good trips end with a bit of fun. Here they play one based in Japan called Nippon Rails. Mr. P scopes Jen's cards and plans their next move.
~~
What a quick wintery jaunt to New York! Mr. Pickle stayed in New York with Jen and they headed to Europe together! Stay tuned for the report on that trip.
~~
Speaking of trips.... Mr. Pickle is booking trips for summer! He wants to travel with YOU! Will you joing him?
Take a Hike!
We'll consider the hiking trip through Switzerland a warm-up trip for Mr. Pickle's hiking trip in New York. He joined Graham from September 3-14 to visit his family and to hike around the Adirondaks, and holy moly, the scenic views! They had a wonderful time.......
 Mr. Pickle's introduction to the Adk's - West Canada Creek and Fort Noble Mtn. (Nobleboro, NY - one of the many small settlements in the Adk's - just try to Google it!) in the southwestern part of the park. He was wondering what the log structures in the river were, so...
 They stopped at the Sacandaga River interpretive trail (Speculator, NY). Where they gathered lots of info on Adk flora & fauna, as well as descriptions of early logging operations, including log drives - check out those anchors!
The first hike, Blue Mtn. (elevation 3759', Blue Mtn. Lake, NY). Signing in at the trail register is a tradition, and a good idea... don't forget to sign out!
 Mr. Pickle at the summit benchmark! Quite a handsome hiker in that fancy hat!
Mr. P stayed safely in the pack on both fire towers. Safety first!
A nice woods walk into Palmer Pond (Chestertown, NY) with Sheila, Tom, and Bandit. Woof!
 The big one - Snowy Mtn. (3899', Indian Lake, NY). With Ralph and Graham's dad at the summit and fire tower. Winds were gusting 40-50mph at the top of the tower, enough to take your breath away.
 The reward - Mr. Pickle enjoys the wilderness view - mountains as far as the eye can see...
AMAZING!
Back at home (Warrensburg, NY) and helping with the chores. Mr. P helps put the horses in for the night - clockwise from upper left: Pepper, Treasure, Tammy, Roger. Can you find Mr. Pickle?
 Another nice woods walk, this time to Round Pond (Thurman, NY). Not really round, but a beautiful view! Mr. Pickle takes a siesta... he got to see and hear loons on this trip!
The final trip, one last ride with el Bandito! Such a nice furry friend to hang out with.
 Mr. Pickle checks out the cool rock formations at the Warren Co. nature & X-country ski trails along the Hudson River (Warrensburg, NY).
He's just hanging out as he takes note of the detail in the rocks.
~~
Wow! What a beautiful trip. Graham was the perfect person to really get this pickle into the great outdoors.
Next up: Paris. Then more Michigan. Then....A trip with you! Where are you taking him? Let me know and I"ll put it on his itinerary. He's open!!
Costa Rica and the East Coast
Our dear pal Mr. Pickle spent most of March 2012 traveling the world with the lovely Dr. Jessica. They traveled from Detroit to Costa Rica, then went on an east coast trip covering New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington DC. WHOAH! He had a wonderful time and spent a lot of time thinking within, while Jessica was surfing and yoga retreating.
 Costa Rica was super hot, even for Mr. P. He tried to stay cool with some aloe.
He spent a lot of time snug in Jessica's backpack as they trecked through beaches and city streets.
~~
So far Mr. Pickle has been to 16 states and 4 countries since we started this project a little over a year ago! He's now got me beat. (I've been to 15 states and 3 countries.) Europe is next up for him!
Do you have a trip coming up that you think Mr. Pickle would enjoy??
Check out his itinerary, and email nomadicpickle [at] gmail.com if you want to take him somewhere.
Deep in the Heart of... New York City
Mr. Pickle spent the weekend of September 29- October 2 with my cousin Rachel on a trip to New York City. I shipped him out to her in Austin, and they set sail from there. So far, all I know they did was visit the Statue of Liberty at Ellis Island. He then spent the rest of October and most of November in Austin, Texas doing who knows what! He did meet Rachel's cat named Boyfriend. (This pickle meets a lot of cats.) Sadly, that's all I know!
Mr. Pickle hits the Big Apple
Mr. Pickle spent June 17-20 in New York City with Elizabeth. They had so much fun on their east coast trip, she snagged him for another trip! And what a fun one for him to go on. I'm quite envious of the sights and scenes of summer in the the Big Apple... filled with adventure and good times.
He met a travelling koala friend while meeting Miss E's friend Jess. When Jess's family drove cross-country, she rode in the semi with her dad and they picked out small toys at the rest stops along the way. Koala now travels the world with Piotr and Jess, so he and Mr. P had a lot to talk about.
 Mr. P was pleased to meet Kirby Cucumber(s) at the Grand Army Plaza Green Market Saturday morning.
 A trip to Mood for some fabric! Mr. Pickle did some shopping for his upcoming trip to Texas! He made it work and Tim Gunn would be proud.
 Mr. Pickle found some friends in the Subway! They were just his size.
 Mr. Pickle enjoys the air conditioning while waiting in line at Blue Bottle.
 Single origin coffee and a single origin Pickle.
 Mr. Pickle ordered a macchiato for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up.
 Mr. Pickle at the Ace Hotel, hanging out by a very informative sign while Miss E charged up devices and waited for a dinner meet-up.
 All dolled up and ready for Texas!
 He's ready to cross the Brooklyn Bridge!
 Welcome to Brooklyn! Mr. Pickle is confused as he thought he just left Brooklyn.
 The very tall Rockefeller Center.
 The Rainbow Room. Mr. P is ready for the bright lights!
 Peacock pickle! NBC pretty much has a new logo now.
 A pickle in Time's Square. It was large, loud, and overwhelming. Not Mr. P's bag.
Post Office time: The last day of their trip together, Miss E mailed Mr. Pickle to her friend Jenny in Chicago! From there he'll be travelling to New Orleans and Texas with Jenny. Does this pickle ever sleep?
If you'd like to take Mr. Pickle on a trip with you, see if it fits in his schedule, and let me know!
Buffalo, NY: A Full Moon Weekend
The weekend of March 18-20 Valerie took Mr. Pickle to Buffalo, NY. He definitely got his fix of outdoor times! It looks like he had a great adventure.
On the dash with the giant full moon as they start their journey on the 401 in Canada.
(Mr. Pickle's first trip outside of the USA!)
At Valerie's friend Jen's birthday party. Is that silly string I see?! I'm sure Mr. P got a kick out of that. (Happy Birthday, Jen!)
At the Japanese Garden on Mirror Lake. He chilled with a topiary and a stone lantern. What a pretty place!
Outside the art museum he got immersed in this sculpture by Fletcher Benton.
Visiting Fort Niagara State Park on Lake Ontario.
(His first Great Lakes visit!)
He's got more trips coming up! Stay tuned.
