Deep Sea Adventure

Mr. Pickle embarked on his first cruise! It was more than a three hour tour as he and the lovely Lana hopped aboard a Disney cruise ship through the Bahamas with her family from May 13-18. Dill was lucky enough to go along for the ride on this island adventure, where they departed from Florida and dove right in. Oh, and they went to Disney World, too!

Side note: Lana was there when Mr. Pickle came to fruition, so they have a bit of a bond going on.

He met another alligator! How does this pickle run into so many gators?

Mr. P at a beer tasting. The brews were consumed quicker than he could say sweet baby dill.

Admiring the lovely Chihuly chandelier! This pickle's got taste.

As always, Mr. P makes friends. This time with an elephant. Made from a towel.

No trip to Disney is complete without meeting Mickey and Minnie! Mr. Pickle was kind of starstruck.

And speaking of starstruck! It's Cinderella! Due to a long wait and high security, all Mr. P could do was snap this shot while in the presence of the princess.

Mr. P chillaxes at the pool. (He really is a proficient swimmer, I swear.)

Another towel friend for Mr. P to meet! It's a... jellyfish? Ghost? Chef? Muppet outcast?

Ah, a serene window-side view. His favorite.

Mr. Pickle! What's this? Yes, he tried on a pretty Minnie dress. This dress did NOT come home with him, nor will I be packing it in his suitcase for his next trip!

Speaking of...

Where are you taking him next? He needs to get to all 50 states!
Check out his itinerary, he's got so much summer time open! Holler if you want him to join you on a trip.

Auf Wiedersehen, Your Highness

Mr. P had a most fabulous time touring a bit of England and Germany with Donald from April 21-May 7. They were on a mission of film festivals, and Mr. Pickle got to take in some of the sights along the way. He had such fun, and came home with a bit of the German language under his belt, thanks to his gracious host.

Taking a breather at the Brandenberg Gate in Berlin, Germany.

He fell in love with old buildings! Such architecture! Like this cathedral in Berlin.

A sunny dip in the flowers in Oberhausen, Germany, with a film festival on his mind.

Mr. P checks out the beauty of the Kensington Gardens in London, England. Apparently this is a place of elegant avenues and architecture.

Elegance indeed, for this royal pickle at the Kensington Gardens.

Mr. P enjoys the view from Ormskirk, England.

All aboard! Mr. P sees circles as he waits at Paddington Station in London. I wonder what he's glancing at...

A few weeks, a few countries, and a pocketful of fun. It was Mr. Pickle's first trip to Europe and he was enthralled to take in some of the culture. He's totally switching gears for his next trip and is on his way to the Bahamas! It's only May and he's been all over the world! Have I mentioned how jealous I am of this little green guy?!

Costa Rica and the East Coast

Our dear pal Mr. Pickle spent most of March 2012 traveling the world with the lovely Dr. Jessica. They traveled from Detroit to Costa Rica, then went on an east coast trip covering New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington DC. WHOAH! He had a wonderful time and spent a lot of time thinking within, while Jessica was surfing and yoga retreating.

Costa Rica was super hot, even for Mr. P. He tried to stay cool with some aloe.

He spent a lot of time snug in Jessica's backpack as they trecked through beaches and city streets.

~~
So far Mr. Pickle has been to 16 states and 4 countries since we started this project a little over a year ago! He's now got me beat. (I've been to 15 states and 3 countries.) Europe is next up for him!

Vegas, Baby!

Mr. Pickle had the pleasure of joining Ms. Susie on a business trip to Las Vegas from February 6-10. Most of the trip was strictly business and conference related, but he had fun checking out the giant hotel they stayed in, and he couldn't get enough of the tall buildings. All work and no play make Dill a boring pickle.

Tomorrow I pass the pickle off in preparation for another grand adventure of the international scale!

Going Back to Cali... For the First Time

Mr. Pickle's traveling pal Elizabeth was headed to the west coast, and he couldn't pass up the opportunity! He started his 2012 travels by joining her for a birthday weekend of January 13-17 for some fun and sun in San Diego, California and surrounding areas. He almost made it to Mexico!

Mr. Pickle enjoys the Tijuana Estuary. That's Mexico behind him!

Enjoying some sun, but... Look out below!

Stopping to smell the flowers at the botanical gardens at Balboa Park

Enjoying foliage at the botanical gardens requires caffeine. What can I say... Bean up, little pickle!

Mr. P meets the founders at Balboa Park in San Diego.

Enjoying hiding in the pickle weed at Imperial Beach. This pickles LOVES his beaches.

On the hunt for Gulls at Imperial Beach!

Pizza breakfast at Leucadia Farmer's Market. Where Miss E says the coffee was adequate and the pizza was amazing. I'm sure Mr. P would agree, he's a bit of a foodie. (In more ways than one!)

He meets some blood oranges at the Leucadia Farmer's Market. Mmmmm, those look tasty.

Overall, Mr. Dill Pickle had a fabulous time on the west coast with Miss E. It was a perfect way to start this year's travels, and he looks forward to heading to Vegas next week!

A Pickle's Christmas

I was happy to send Mr. Pickle off with my friend Miss Olivia on a trip to Atlanta, Georgia from December 23-28. He had a great holiday with her while she visited with her family. No pickle Christmas would be complete without elves, cookies, cupcakes, and pigs!

First up was meeting the Elf on the Shelf. It kept an eye on Mr. Pickle and his new friend, Olivia's 3 year old niece Madison, as they waited for Santa to come.

Of course Olivia had to get to baking some fabulous treats, and of course Mr. P had to get it on the fun. Check out that dandy lil apron! No flour mess on this pickle.

He enjoyed being tucked in for a cozy slumber.

Play time! First up was an ABC board game.

Then some quality time playing with his new farm pals. (Talk about anthropomorphic bliss!)

He took a ride on the Pink Pig! Macy's Pink Pig has been a popular holiday attraction in Atlanta since 1953. Families (and pickles) line up for a ride on the Pink Pig.

No trip would be complete without some quality munching. Mr. P and his hosts enjoyed soup and sweets at Dulce Vegan. YUM.

All in all, he had a fabulous holiday, relaxing with his new friends. He's looking forward to getting back out in the world. Will it be with you?
His winter is pretty open, and he's looking forward to an adventurous 2012.

Deep in the Heart of... New York City

Mr. Pickle spent the weekend of September 29- October 2 with my cousin Rachel on a trip to New York City. I shipped him out to her in Austin, and they set sail from there. So far, all I know they did was visit the Statue of Liberty at Ellis Island. He then spent the rest of October and most of November in Austin, Texas doing who knows what! He did meet Rachel's cat named Boyfriend. (This pickle meets a lot of cats.) Sadly, that's all I know!
